Holly’s short story “Zugunruhe” won third place in the 2023 Wisconsin People and Ideas Fiction Contest judged by Debra Monroe.
Holly’s contest-winning essay about her love of birds was featured in the MOXIE Theatre lobby starting Feb. 9, 2023. The contest was held in conjunction with MOXIE Theatre’s production of Birds of North America by Anna Ouyang Moench. An abbreviated version of Holly’s essay was also published in the San Diego Union Tribune.
Holly’s short story “Beyond His Reach” was the winner of the 2018 James Hurst Prize for Fiction sponsored by NC State University.
